Giving Back to the Community
One of the most rewarding aspects of owning my own business was the opportunity that I was given to create jobs for people, to have jobs they love. It was a privilege to offer a safe and happy work environment to our team. It was also rewarding to prioritize sustainable innovations and reduce our carbon footprint on this planet.
Donating to charities or the less fortunate and custom made products for the disabled community were some of the most memorable moments that came my way. Getting behind community projects, sponsoring schools and sports teams was such a wonderful privilege. Encouraging and empowering gender equality sports is something I am passionate about. Yes, i do follow the Matildas and I proudly get behind and support women’s soccer!
Satisfaction and Pride
Building something on your own, from scratch, that someone out there is paying good money to buy. This gives an enormous sense of accomplishment and worth. You can pat yourself on your back as you are now a proud member of an exclusive club of successful business owners.
Having Fun, working with who you want and following your passion
Imagine waking up every day and getting paid to have fun! One of the greatest benefits of business is enjoying what you do and who you choose to do it with is most satisfying. You get to build your own team. If you have a business partner this could also prove to be beneficial. It did for me! You set your own pace, goals, and strategies, and there’s no one there to tell you otherwise. Blissful.
Risk & Challenges
It almost feels like a game. But as stressful as businesses are, you absolutely reap the rewards when they succeed through hard work and effort. That’s your effort, passion, and work going straight into your bank account – not someone elses.
Balancing your life the way you want to. Setting your own hours. Lifestyle.
Although this is quite difficult to master, once all checks and balances are in place and things are running the way you are happy, it’s time to take that time away. You could even work remotely if you like – perhaps on a remote island, soaking up the sun and managing your work a few hours a day. Embrace the 4 day work week and create a harmonious workplace for yourself and your team. The benefits of running your own business are endless.
Controlling your own Destiny
Your hard work and yours alone will allow you to reap unlimited financial rewards. You will have more freedom and independence working for yourself. Remember, you are the boss, and you set the rules. How much money you get from owning your own business depends on you and only you. Do it right and you could see yourself financially stable and independent in a matter of years.
My absolute favourite
Taking your dog to work EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. He made everyone’s day brighter. I am an advocate of pets being part of work-life. I believe it increases happiness and productivity and reduces stress.
