If my business journey was just about those Cranky Boss moments, life would have been a breeze! But, as it turns out, I’ve earned quite a few nicknames along the way. “Captain Shits” was one of them—though thankfully, there were better ones too! Whenever I fixed a problem or found a clever solution, I was suddenly “MacGyver” or “The Maister.” Some of my staff even called me “Lara Croft!”
Of course, all these names were just part of the fun. You’ll notice I mention crankiness a fair bit throughout my site—not because I dwell on it, but because it’s simply a reality in both life and business. Things don’t always go to plan. We’re human, and frustration is inevitable. I’ve certainly had my share, and I’m sure you have too! But those moments of frustration? They build resilience. They remind us that quitting on a bad day, month, or even year isn’t the answer. Instead, we rise—like a phoenix from the ashes—stronger and more determined than before.
Having a business partner definitely helped lighten the load. And let’s be honest, running your own successful business is one of the most rewarding achievements in life. The key? Work smarter, not harder. In the end, both the journey and the end goal make every cranky moment worthwhile.
